1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading and using ZenZettel, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Local Data Storage
ZenZettel stores all your notes and data locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or have access to your personal notes or data on any external servers or cloud services.
3. Use of the App
You may use ZenZettel for personal note-taking and knowledge management. You are responsible for backing up your data as all information is stored locally on your device.
4. Intellectual Property
ZenZettel and its original content are owned by us and protected by copyright laws. Your notes and content remain your intellectual property.
5. Limitation of Liability
ZenZettel is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for any data loss, as all data is stored locally on your device.
6. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any changes.
Privacy Policy

ZenZettel is designed with privacy at its core. All your notes, thoughts, and data are stored exclusively on your device. We have no access to your content.
1. Data Collection
We do not collect any personal data, notes, or content from ZenZettel. Everything you create stays on your device.
2. Local Storage Only
All your notes, connections, tags, and app data are stored exclusively on your iOS device. No information is transmitted to external servers, cloud services, or third parties—except when using the "AI Swipe" feature (see section 5). This means:
- Your notes remain private to your device
- No cloud synchronization occurs
- No data is sent to ZenZettel servers
- No third-party analytics track your content
- You have complete control and ownership of all your data
3. App Analytics
We may collect anonymous usage statistics (such as app crashes or feature usage) to improve the app, but this data contains no personal information or note content.
4. Data Backup
Since all data is stored locally, you are responsible for backing up your notes through iOS backup systems if desired. We recommend regular device backups.
5. Third-Party Services
By default, ZenZettel does not integrate with third-party services. However, when you use the "AI Swipe" feature, your note content is temporarily sent to OpenAI's API for processing. This is the only instance where your data leaves your device. OpenAI will process the note content according to their privacy policy, but we do not store any records of these AI requests. You have full control over when to use this feature.
